The town of Canowindra has pulled together to get preparations under way for the Noojee Lea Spring Garden Event to raise funds for the Canowindra Hospital Auxiliary.

The Canowindra Garden Club sub committee Mary Finn, Cheryl Wythes, Carolyn Wythes Narelle Wales and Dierdre Keady, together with Canowindra Lions Club President Richard Bowd and Canowindra CWA representatives Fran French and Jenny Middleton, met in the famous walled garden to discuss the preparations for catering for the expected crowds who will be visiting to enjoy the beautiful gardens and homestead at Noojee Lea.
At last month’s Garden Club AGM, the Garden Club elected their new executive.
President Carolyn Wythes, Sec Dierdre Keady, Treasurer Jenny Laing Publicity officer, Narelle Hughes, Vice president, Mary Finn and programme organisers Nola Meggitt and Linda Guthrie.
Our outgoing President Pauline Jani was thanked for all her hard work and effort.
It was much appreciated by the Garden Club.
The garden will be open on Saturday, October 6 from 11am until 5pm.
The cost will be $20 per adult which includes a Devonshire tea and this year, lunch will be available for purchase in the grounds.
There will also be garden stalls from specialist Canowindra nurseries.
At last year’s Spring Garden Event, more than 300 guests visited Noojee Lea Homestead and organisers have said about $6000 was cleared to go towards an upgrade of the patient lounge area at the hospital.
