Eugowra is gearing up for a massive long weekend with the Back to Eugowra Ball and Canola Cup ready to go.

The Back to Eugowra Ball is scheduled to begin at 6pm on Saturday night, with a major aim of have a fun evening out in Eugowra, as well as catching up with those who have moved away.
Event organiser Jen Marshall said the Ball is being hosted by Eugowra Events and Tourism Association and also aims to promote Eugowra and raise funds for a local bus.
Tickets for the Back to Eugowra Ball are $70, which includes entry and canapes can be purchased from https://www.123tix.com.au/events/1856/back-to-eugowra-ball or from Head On In Hairdressers.
Scheduled for the Monday of the October long weekend, the Canola Cup has plenty of activities for the whole family.
Eugowra has five times won NSW Harness Racing honours for running the best Carnival of Cups meeting of its size.
Monday, October 1 will boast an eight-race program, featuring the $30,000 Lexus of Parramatta Canola Cup, and the $10,000 Don Tildsley Memorial.
Once you’re through the gates, entertainment for the children is free including teacup rides, jumping castle and inflatable obstacle course. Pooka’s Entertainment will be on course, working his wonders with balloon sculptures and fun, and Percy the Pacer might pop in too.
Eugowra Preschool will be there fundraising with facepainting and sno cones.
There will be mini-trots races to get the day underway, and live music by The Hewetts.
Ladies and gents are urged to plan their outfits: there are excellent prizes for Fashions on the Field which are expected to be hotly contested. The titles of Canola Cup King, Queen and Princess are up for grabs, and there’s a prize for best headwear as well.
Limited seats are available in the marquee, for $65 you get a two-course meal, as well as champagne and a cheese and fruit platter. You do need to book by September 24.
Entry on the day is $10, under 16s are free.
Harness Racing NSW is inviting farming families to enjoy a day out at their local Carnival of Cups race meeting.
