Patients at the Canowindra Hospital will enjoy extra comfort on the hospital’s verandah and patient lounge thanks to a $10,000 donation this week.

Garden Club president Carolyn Wythes presented the donation on Monday, proceeds from the open day hosted by Mr Charles and Mrs Eva Curran at Noojee Lea on October 6.
This money, along with the $6,000 raised at the 2017 Open Garden, is in the management of the Canowindra Hospital Auxiliary, dedicated specifically to undertake the work designated by Mr Curran.
The overall area will cost approximately $15,000, which includes new flooring, painting, lighting and partitioning of the quiet area will be undertaken by St Vincent de Paul, with hopefully some money left for furnishings.
“We cannot express our appreciation enough to Mr and Mrs Curran for their generosity and our gratitude to the Canowindra Garden Club for all the work they carried out on the day,” auxiliary secretary Jenny Weaver said.
The garden club organising entry to the venue, raffles and served Devonshire tea and slice.
The CWA ladies served lunch and the Canowindra Lions Club also helped.
Canowindra Health Service manager Janice Rumph described the donation as “an amazing gesture”.
“This community is just so amazing and generous when it comes to the hospital,” Ms Rumph said..
“The hospital staff are so appreciative, humbled and grateful. This money will be used to benefit patient care and will be a lasting legacy,” she added.
