A tough day for the Canowindra Tigers was also made tougher by the first match of the day, with the ladies league Tag team going down to the Manildra Rhinos, 24-8, with key player Alicia Earsman hobbling from the field late after a severe ankle roll.

Despite being in touch with the Rhinos before half-time, multiple tries to Sarah Kirkness and Molly Haswell, who also kicked three goals, caught the Tigers out flat-footed at key moments, with penalties also not helping the cause.

Zoe Bronnett and Kathy Davis scored tries for the Tigers, who are now sitting at two wins and one loss to start the season, in fourth place as they head into the Easter break.

The Tigers have a week off following Easter, but will resume at the same time as their male counterparts on Saturday, May 4, with a derby match against Cargo at Tom Clyburn Oval.
