President of the Canowindra Showground Trust, Geoffrey Beath, has confirmed Andrew Gee's $250,000 election promise for three new amenities blocks at the showground was still good.

Mr Beath said he had sent a congratulatory email to the re-elected member for Calare, reminding him of his commitment.

"I did contact him and he's said he hasn't forgotten, the money is definitely going through," he said.

"He even mentioned the promise in an interview with Prime7 when they forgot about it.

"I think we'll just have to sit back wait for new ministers to be announced and for the Parliament to reconvene in June," he said.

Mr Beath said the announcement, which was made during Mr Gee's campaign launch, was surprising.

"We've put in lots of grant applications and we usually get knocked back," he said.

"Usually funding for the showground would come under the state government and funding can get messy.

"So this announcement was very surprising, but we are grateful for it. Now we'll look to start the next stage."
