The Canowindra Pythons had a tough day at the office on Saturday afternoon, losing 80-7 to the league leading Molong Magpies in a difficult encounter at Tom Clyburn Oval.

While the Magpies are on top of the ladder, they sit equal on points with the Wellington Redbacks and Geurie Goats, creating an tight situation with only three games remaining in the season, the top teams separated only by for and against and games played.

Meanwhile, the Pythons who are 10 points behind the Yeoval Eagles and sitting on the bottom of the ladder, will be looking to keep the fight up until the season's end when they travel to take on the Redbacks at Kennard Park from 3.15pm.
