The win puts the Tigers into fifth on for-and-against, and with two winnable fixtures against the Condobolin Rams and Eugowra Golden Eagles, in the box seat to set their own destiny with regards to finals, while the Goannas sit only one point further ahead of the Tigers and the Peak Hill Roosters.
The game started with both sides hardly giving an inch, with scores 20-18 the Tigers way at half time, with lead changes in both directions, as the two teams struggled to assert themselves on the game.
...A win that could prove pivotal in finalising the make-up of the top five
- The Canowindra Tigers men's team pulled off crucial win against Grenfell on the weekend.
However, after half-time, the Tigers pulled away after weathering an early Goannas burst, restricting the visiting team eight points in the second half to eventually register a 16 point victory, a win that could prove pivotal in finalising the make-up of the top five for the Woodbridge Cup Men's finals.
Regan Hughes registered another best on ground performance to go with Player's Player honours, while Andrew Kelleher and Brydon Hughes picked up two votes of their own to go with singles to the Harry Whatman and Steve Tahere.

The women's team were a little less fortunate than their male counterparts, going down 22-10 to a second placed Goannas outfit that was just a little too good on the day despite another competitive Tigers effort.
The results however, have done nothing to change the ladder, with the Tigers remaining one point behind the fourth-placed Condobolin and six points clear of any other potential finals threat, making this week's match-up against the Rams a crucial one as the team seeks to climb its way up the ladder.
Captain-coach Alicia Earsman again earned the three votes for another strong performance, while Kelly Price and Kathy Davis picked up two votes and one vote respectively. Player's player went to Kate Price.
Both teams will be hitting the road for their important upcoming clashes against the Rams on Sunday afternoon, with the drive to Condobolin Oval set to take around two hours each way.
