Golfers scramble for title at Canowindra Golf Club

A Cowra team has taken out Canowindra's Volskswagen Scramble round.

The Canowindra Golf Club hosted the round on Saturday, January 11.

The club hosted 15 teams with 60 golfers for the round.

Thanks to the teams that travelled from Condobolin, Manildra, Orange and Cowra.

Thanks also to Cowra Golf Club professional Tom Perfect for his help registering teams and running the day.

Thanks to Doug Flannery for keeping the course in good order under very trying conditions.

Winners of the day were Anthony (Kak) Smith, Jim McNaught, John Bishof and Hayden Smith with a Nett 56.2.

Second place was the Canowindra team of John Lawrence, Ross Noble, Barry Rue and Eileen Wilson with a Nett 57.

In third place was Josh Kopp, Dan Crombie, James Ryan and Shane Taber with a Nett 58.1.

Fourth place was Wayne Middleton, Mick Donelly, Col Clunes and Paul Amberge with a Nett 58.7.

On Sunday, January 12 the club had a 18 Hole Stableford.

Winner for the day was Robbie Lawrence with 37 points.

In second place on a countback was Jamie Grant with 36 points and third place was Max Haley.

Next week's event is a 18 Hole Stableford Gold Medal round sponsored by Don and Rhonda Ward.
