In a statement, the Bicycle Network, which hosts the challenge, said the event will not be held on March 21 and 22 due to the ban of all non-essential gatherings of more than 500 people.
"With all non-essential mass gatherings of more than 500 people now banned, we are sad to let you know that the Newcrest Orange Challenge will not go ahead on Sunday 22 March 2020," the Bicycle Network said on Facebook.
"As this is a rapidly evolving situation, we ask that all participants please be patient as we work out the details and speak with relevant stakeholders.
"We promise to keep you updated."
