The district's rainfall for July exceeded the long term average for the month with a wet start to August forecast.
Weatherzone forecasts possible showers for Friday, Saturday and Sunday, with a 90 per cent chance of 10-20mm of rain to end the week.
Saturday is expected to fetch 5-10mm of rain while there's a 60 per cent chance of 5-10mm to round out the week on Sunday.
Road closures and minor flooding were experienced in Cowra and Canowindra following the weekend rain.
A minor flood warning was issued for the Belubula at Canowindra on Monday and Tuesday of last week.
The Canowindra road closures included George Russell Drive and the Belubula Way at Cherry Tree Falls Bridge.
On the approach to Canowindra the Canowindra SES was on duty as the Belubular River rose from 1.6 metres to three metres in less than 12 hours.
The rain has also had an impact at Wyangala Dam which rose to 23.9 per cent of capacity as of Monday, August 13, up from 17 per cent the previous week.
The Canowindra SES unit said it was extremely proud of our community who, mostly, did not enter flood waters and turned around at road closed signs during last week's rain event.
"Roads are closed for the protection of not only the community, but also for the volunteers protection so they do not need to enter floodwaters and rescue you," the SES said on social media.
