Canowindra Lions Club, along with emergency services in the town, are encouraging residents to stay safe this holiday season.

Canowindra Lions Club member Alison Newcombe said locals should not hesitate to contact ambulance, the fire brigade or police in the case of an emergency.

"We want people to be mindful of the holiday season and aware that their services are available 24/7," she said.

"There's a lot of people out there aren't really utilising the services. If their symptoms start at 3am, they're waiting till 8am to call them because they don't want to get them out of bed.

"Don't be afraid to use our emergency services, that's what they are for."

The Lions Club and emergency services want to wish Canowindra residents a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.
