Close contest in mixed pairs finals

Last Friday night, 18 players competed in mixed mufti bowls with the winners being Jeanine Arnot, Steve Kirkman and Jenny Middleton and the runners up being Penny Nash, Jeff Jacavier and Tot Fisher.

Last Saturday the final of the mixed pairs was played with Mick Traves and Penny Nash against Crock Watt and Jeanette Wheeldon.

The scores were close throughout the game with the scores level at 27-all on the second last end.

Crock and Jeanette won the last end and the final 28-27.

Last Sunday a semi final of the O'Brien Cup was played with Steve Kirkman and Ian Nelder against Nick Delaney and Phil Lees.

Steve and Ian took control early in the game to win the match 34-15.

Friday, January 15: Twilight social mixed mufti bowls with names in by 6pm for 6.30pm start.

Sunday, January 17: O'Brien Cup final - V. Mirto and B. Bourke versus S. Kirkman and I. Nelder.

Saturday, January 23: Anniversary Triples Day - $1260 in prize money. First and second prizes, three round prizes and semi final runners up prizes. Win plus ends. Three games of 13 ends in a round robin tournament.

Play commences at 9am with two games prior to lunch. $90 per team includes Chinese lunch and high tea. Semi final of four ends and final of four ends.

Sunday, January 24: Twenty-five year anniversary of Ron Worboys Memorial Three Bowls Pairs. $1140 in prize money. First and second prizes. Three round prizes and semi final runners up prizes. Win plus ends. Semi final of four ends and final of four ends. Three games of 13 ends in a round robin tournament.

Nominations are now open for the major and minor singles as well as the major and minor pairs.

Wednesday badge draw will be $600. Friday badge draw will be $400. Sunday badge draw will be $450.
