The Tigers' celebrations will be held from May 7 to May 9.

With pre-season training under way the Canowindra Tigers' Centenary Committee have turned their attention to this year's celebrations.

With the celebrations for 100 years of history set down for last year until COVID-19 intervened, a decision was made by all interested parties to hold the event in 2021.

Ironically, the dates and days chosen have remained the same, Friday, May 7, Saturday, May 8, and Sunday, May 9.

Committee member Tony Hardman said they had a number of events planned to celebrate the milestone.

"On Friday night a muster will be held in the Canowindra Bowling Club followed by three big games played at Tom Clyburn Oval on the Saturday," he said.

"The Tigers' opponents are likely to be Eugowra or Cargo and these details will be firmed up when the Woodbridge Cup draw is known.

"On Saturday night a dinner will be held at the Canowindra Ex-Services Club. Admission will be $25 per head and booking details will be posted soon.

"Social distancing and other COVID-19 regulations will be enforced on the night. A recovery will then be held on Sunday."

Hardman said the club was looking forward to getting their historic year underway.

"It was disappointing that the event could not be held during the 100th year," he said.

"All around the world similar action was taken with other major events after a year we won't forget.

"Canowindra are committed to a top year this season and celebrating the club's heritage will lift the spirits of both players and followers alike.

"The club has made a positive step to lift the stocks of depth and quality, a huge response to the celebration is anticipated by the willing and active general committee of the club."

The Tigers next training session will be January 31 from 9.30am to 11am.
