The digital version of the album was launched on International Women's Day, March 7.
Although not every song is a woman's story, one reviewer observes: Nerida writes with emotional maturity of her own life experiences and those of close friends - stories of hurt, repression, strength and resilience and, woven throughout, the healing power of nature. The songs are mostly about women and one line in particular, "Show me a mountain and I'll move it" is a testament to the human spirit. (Margaret Walters, veteran folk singer)
Fred Smith, songwriter and Australian diplomat, writes: There is real emotional and narrative depth to this beautifully recorded album. The more you listen, the more you find. A thinking, feeling woman's take on life, love and family in an Australian town".
Nerida grew up on the edge of a bush reserve in Sydney, and chose to spend most of her young adult years in far west NSW.
She sees Australia as a weaving of ancient peoples and new, untold beauty and harsh extremes, resilience and brokenness; a land that holds us all and has the capacity to speak into our lives.
The album itself will be officially launched with a concert in Canowindra on May 1, however the digital version of the album is now available at www.nerida.info.
Nerida will be performing the songs in various locations over the next several months; information can be found via her website and social medias.
