If you are interested in seeing firsthand why you should control sticky nightshade before it becomes established on your place, you should attend the planned Mid Lachlan Landcare workshop on Thursday, April 22.
Sticky nightshade (Solanum sisymbriifolium) is an invasive weed that has been spreading in the Central Tablelands over recent years.
Along with local council weed officers, Central Tablelands Local Land Services is encouraging all landholders to be vigilant for new stands of sticky nightshade and be proactive in controlling to help reduce the spread of this weed.
The difficulty and cost of controlling sticky nightshade once established was a key contributing factor to the decision to list sticky nightshade as a priority weed in the Central Tablelands.
All participants need to register for the event online or contact Marita Sydes (marita.sydes@lls.nsw.gov.au 0439 334 282).
