The art exhibition wrapped up on Thursday, April 8, with a presentation evening held at the Molong RSL to award the winners.
A big congratulations to Amanda Holman who was awarded the major prize and will have her artwork, titled "Storms Gathering Over Mt Canobolas", acquired by Cabonne Council.
Philip Jeffery was awarded Highly Commended in the prize as well, and David Isbester took home the Peoples' Choice Award.
In the Primary School category, year 5 student Macey Armstrong from Cumnock Public School took home the first place prize, with Sienna Lewis being awarded second and Te Paea Pineaha awarded third.
In the High School category, year 12 student Morgan Romer from Molong Central School took home the first place prize, with Lily Matthews being awarded second and Korro Bangoura awarded third.
The art prize aims to foster a sense of identity, pride and place in Cabonne whilst encouraging and showcasing the high calibre of creative talent in the region.
Council received in excess of 20 artworks for the Acquisitive Art Prize and over 50 artworks for the Primary and Secondary School sections.
Judges were Robert Stephens, the Director of the Aarwun Gallery in Canberra, who judged the Acquisitive Art Prize, and local Orange artist, Joy Engelman who judged the Primary and Secondary Cabonne Art Prizes.
