"Baroquefest provides a travel subsidy for the schools that need to travel and this encouragement means we have enthusiastic support for the project," Baroquefest member Helen Payten said.
Iconic world music group Mara! will inspire students to listen to and understand each other by sharing music from multicultural Australia.
Integrating music and dance, Music in my Suitcase gives students the opportunity to share their own languages and explore Australian history in this exciting program.
The group includes Mara Kiek - voice, Llew Kiek - balama, bouzouki, Tim Clarkson - clarinet, flute, saxophone and Stuart Vandegraff - saxophone.
"We've travelled the globe collecting music, but we're most excited to share what we learned right here over the back fence. We can't wait to discover what musical gems you have in your suitcase," Mara Kiek from Music in my Suitcase said.
Canowindra's unique boutique baroque music festival is on again this year from September 17 to 19.
There'll be five concerts at All Saints Church, Wallington Winery, Rosnay Winery and a new mega-venue, Chris and Nerida Cuddy's "Perennialle Plants" in the main street of Canowindra.
The lead act on the Saturday evening will be the Australian Haydn Ensemble playing lots of Vivaldi and Hasse.
Music Director Andrew Baker will post the full program and online ticket sales on www.baroquefest.org.au very soon.
In the meantime, on Saturday, June 19 at 7 pm, two celebrities, pianist Simon Tedeschi and flautist Sally Walker will play at Perennialle Plants.
It will be a delightful program of French works by Gabriel Faure, Erik Satie, Georges Bizet and Francis Poulenc.
