Reported cases of break and enter from a dwelling were 29 between March 2019 and March 2020, and fell to 17 between March 2020 and March 2021.
There was also a significant reduction in the amount of reported break and enter from a non-dwelling offences, down from 38 to 12 in the past 12 months.
Reported cases of "steal from a motor vehicle" dropped dramatically, from 41 to 11, while motor vehicle theft fell from 15 to nine in the last year.
Cases of "steal from retail store" had a slight decrease, from seven to six, while there were 16 reported "steal from dwelling" offences compared to 24 between March 2019 and March 2020.
Fraud also fell, from 38 reported cases to 26.
Reported cases of "domestic violence related assault" and "non-domestic violence related assault" also decreased, from 37 to 25 and 28 to 22 respectively in the past year.
Indecent assault, acts of indecency and other sexual offences remained steady, with 12 reported in both time periods.
There was, however a slight increase in the reported cases of "steal from person" from one to two, 67 cases of "malicious damage to property" compared to 60 on the previous 12 months and sexual assault cases have risen from 13 to 16.
Statewide statistics show a sharp and unexpected jump in sexual assaults reported to NSW Police in March 2021.
Police recorded 940 sexual assaults in March 2021; 300 more than in February 2021 and 61 per cent more than the monthly average.
In the Central West, there was a 52 per cent increase in the monthly average of sexual assaults.
According to Jackie Fitzgerald from BOCSAR, "the increase appears to be due to a temporary rise in victim willingness to formally report sexual violence".
"The timing of the increase closely aligns with saturation media coverage of numerous sexual assault allegations in late February and March 2021," she said.
