Former Canowindra pool manager Jarrod Strange has returned to the region, taking up the role of supervisor at the Cowra Aquatic Centre.

Originally from Cowra Jarrod was based at the Canowindra Pool for eight years between 2000 and 2018 before moving to Canberra where he was also involved in the pool industry.

"I'm back, just a lot older," he said of his move back to the region.

His career in pools started as a 17 year-old attendant with then Cowra Aquatic Centre supervisor Will Guy.

He left that role is his early twenties taking up a more senior position at the Canowindra Pool for eight years before moving to Canberra in 2018 where he worked as a service technician on cooling towers.

Despite the temporary change in career direction Jarrod's involvement in pools continued.

"We did all the Defence (Department) pools," he explained.

The Cowra role came about after Jarrod received a message from a friend that the vacancy existed.

The move also gave him the chance to be closer to his 11 year-old son Levi.

Jarrod's partner Charlotte Forester, who he has a three-year-old daughter with, takes on the role as aquatic centre Team Leader making the decision to move home easier.

Charlotte was also previously employed at the Canowindra Pool.
