The makeover, which is part of the Canowindra Master Plan, is the culmination of years of work by the Chamber and Cabonne Shire Council.
"I know the community was a bit disheartened because they did the work, gave up their time for the community consultation and then nothing happened," Mr D'Onise said.
"We thank the community for being patient, these things take time," he added
The Canowindra Master Plan was delivered following a series of community consultations with Cabonne Council budgeting more than $5.5 million for identified projects.
"The plan wouldn't have been possible without the support of the Canowindra community," Mr D'Onise said.
"We thank the community for being involved and highlighting areas of improvements that they felt were relevant.
"From that whole process a lot of parts of the Canowindra community came together and were open enough to discuss, constructively, with council what they saw as problems and what improvements they wanted.
"In the last few years government has been talking about shovel ready projects, so having the master plan with a budget set out and delivery times, it has all helped.
"We're pleased we can start doing something really good for the town and improve the livability of the town as well," he said.
