The walk is a 96km challenge designed to raise funds for increased mental health resources, programs, and workshops for rural and remote towns in the Central West.
Now in its sixth year the walk will take place from the May 10-12, 2022 with 100 people expected to take part aiming to raise a minimum of $30,000.
Entries can be made at the walk website https://www.c2gwalk.com/
Walk organisers made an application this week to Cabonne Shire council requesting $5000 in assistance to hold the walk.
A recommendation was put to the meeting on Tuesday to provide $2000 in assistance.
The grant money will be used for the hiring of Traffic Control Personnel.
"Based on the guidelines this does meet the criteria for a Core Event, thus the recommendation of $2,000," Cabonne Councillors were told.
In a submission to yesterday's meeting walk director Toby Barons said the walk "brings together people from surrounding regions to be involved in a challenge to raise money for mental health resources".
"We aim to endorse and promote all participating councils in many ways as well as the businesses operating in them," he said.
The walk begins in Cargo making its way to Canowindra before moving on to Gooloogong and finishing in Grenfell.
Entries are already being taken and organisers have put a call out for sponsorship.
"To all businesses in the Central West area, are you interested in assisting C2G Walk in 2022?" Mr Baron said.
"We have many sponsorship options to cater for businesses needs and situations."
Anyone interested in providing sponsorship can contact Mr Baron by email at c2gwalk@gmail.com.
