To be known as the Eat Local Friday Twilight Market, the first will be held on December 17.
The idea to make the market more regular sprung up during the Canowindra Christmas Shopping Week promotion in mid November.
As part of the shopping week promotion the Rosnay Organic gang held an open air pop up market and were joined by friends to play some funky tunes.
A great community vibe was felt on the Gaskill Street block owned by the Statham family affectionately named by the locals "The Palms".
It was so lovely the question was raised by community members.. could this be a regular thing?
In usual Sam Statham style, he said "Sure!".
A casual meeting was held recently to get a few volunteers involved to make it happen.
It was discussed that this little slice of our main street could be a really useful space for local producers and artisans to market their goods.
It is also an ideal place for the community and visitors to come together for local entertainment.
The first of hopefully many of these twilight pop up markets dubbed "Eat Local Friday" will be held on Friday the 17th of December 3pm-6:30pm.
Interested members of the community are encouraged to come along, bring a picnic and hang around after some market shopping at "The Palms" to discuss the future and enjoy the serenity.
