Last year saw the CHS&M open to visitors for three months with a steady flow of visitors traveling from coastal areas to visit the Central West.
CHS&M President, Jan Harris, said the group also took part in the Canowindra Balloon Festival, helping to preview the event using the late Frank Hackett-Jones' Kookaburra balloon.
"The balloon was given to CHS&M in trust as custodians for the people of Canowindra and had remained out of sight for some time," she said.
"A successful cold air inflation to find out its condition which was followed by a hot air inflation trial by professional balloonists.
"Raised (tethered) in the early morning, it astounded those present and passing by."
In August and September, the Cabonne LGA went into lockdown along with much of the state, with general meetings helping CHS&M get back on track in October and November.
Mrs Harrison praised volunteers who came to the CHS&M rescue in late November when the museum was flooded following a storm which dropped 101mm of rain half an hour.
"I would like to pay tribute to all who rallied so promptly and effectively that afternoon and then for the aftermath clean up and sorting on the following days," she said.
"We had willing assistance from our members as well as people from the local community.
"It was a mighty effort co-ordinating operations, doing what was needed at the time and then continuing on into the following weeks of drying and airing buildings.
"Thank you so much to everyone for your efforts in very many ways."
Despite the museum being unable to open in January, Mrs Harrison said the group was looking forward to 2022 and the possibilities it held.
"Some of our hopes follow are a continuing aim to continue the collection documentation and information on our data base as well as keeping written records," she said.
"The covering of the machinery sheds and interpretation of items within.
"Return of History in the Club/Pub as we have several interesting speakers who have indicated their willingness to participate.
"Participation in the Centenary celebrations for the opening of Canowindra Soldier's Memorial Hospital in June 2022, with the intention is to prepare a small booklet on this interesting history for the occasion."
