It wasn't the result the Pythons were looking for but if they can take a positive from last Saturday's 43-22 loss to Wellington it was the performance from some of the club's younger brigade.

"We didn't quite get the result we wanted," Python Gus Fisher said after the match but "the boys showed a lot of spirit with reduced numbers".
"The highlight of the game was the young guys coming through, they stepped up, all showed up and did well," he said..
The Pythons went into the match with a lot of the boys out with injuries.
Despite this the rest of the team carried good team morale into the game, the final score being 43-22 to Wellington.
Tim Somers scored the first Pythons try off charge down and backed it up again with a second try minutes later.
Coming into the second half Max Irving scored a try bring the score to 31-15
Half way into the second half Hayden Tom scored a try with Sam Austin converting the kick.

The Pythons now have two weeks off and take on Yeoval at Yeoval on June 25.
