Both sides tested each other out early with some big clashes among the forwards.
The Tigers opened the scoring with a try under the posts to Lewis Dwyer to take a 6-0 lead after just four minutes of play
After a repeat set Manildra hit back with a try in the corner, which was unconverted for the Tigers to remain in front after 19 minutes.
Manildra took the lead five minutes later after a glut of possession to take the lead 10-6 before stretching the lead to 14-6 before Canowindra Jayden Brown was sent to the sin-bin for a late tackle.
After enjoying a bit more possession the Tigers, after a high tackle from Manildra, scored next to the posts courtesy of Ryder Fraser. With the kick successful the score was back to 16-12 before the home side evened the scores after some good play saw Fraser Ryder score his second try.
Danny Matthews converted to give the Tigers the lead 18-16 with a full compliment after Brown returned from the sin-binned.
Manildra were next to cross after the Tigers spilt the ball near their own line and gave away a penalty with the Rhinos scoring out wide to regain the lead 20-18.
The conversion attempted was waved away with 20 left on the clock.
With eight minutes left in the match the Tigers used their angles for Aaron Earsman to score next to the post. Matthews again converted to give the Tigers the lead back 22-20.
From that point the Tigers dominated to score two more tries.
After a period of beautiful play from Lewis Dwyer and George Lolo followed by good runs from Ryan Clark and Ron Lawrance a pass was sent to Aaron Earsman who sent the ball out wide for James Dine to score wide out and take the lead out to 28-20.
With one last crack Manildra were throwing the ball around before Clark picked up a dropped ball to seal the win for the Tigers and secure second spot.
Next week the Tigers will host Trundle in Canowindra.
Youth league defeated
In Youth League Cargo ran out winners 24-12.
The Tigers lead 6-0 early before Cargo fought back with the Tigers making too many mistakes giving Cargo piggy back sets.
The Tigers fought back in the second half but too much dropped ball proved costly.
Both sides will meet again in the semi finals this weekend.
Manildra too strong in League Tag
In a very entertaining game Manildra were too strong after drawing first blood through their classy centre to take the lead 6-0.
After both sides were making metres through good work the visitors extended their lead to 10-0 before Maddi Brooks hit back for the Tigresses.
Manildra hit back with nine minutes left in the first half after a great run from their five-eighth.
At half time the score had been extended to 20-4 in favour of Manildra who were first to score in the second half when the bounce of the ball went against the Tigresses.
After a couple of penalties the Tigresses, through Emma Bailey, reduced the lead to Manildra 26-10.
