Now going into the third year, the Canowindra Christmas Day Luncheon is continuing to grow, with more than 70 people enjoying last year's event.
As part of the dedicated team of around 20 volunteers, Marion Wilson encouraged anyone from Canowindra or the surrounding areas looking for a welcoming Christmas lunch to head to the Canowindra Bowling Club this December 25.
"It's open for people to attend who may be by themselves or with no extended family nearby and children are welcome too," she said.
"There's a wonderful Christmas spirit, music will be provided and we want people to enjoy the experience and enjoy the time and effort that everyone puts in."
Lunch will kick off at 12pm, festivities wrapping up around 2pm, giving everyone the chance to head home and sleep off all their Christmas trimmings.
Transport to and from the event will also be available and will be wheelchair accessible. Anyone wishing to attend both Christmas Day lunch and/or use the transport must register at either St Vinnies, the Food Basket, Community Health Centre or Toby Newcombe at the Belubula Butchery Monday, December 15 at the latest.
Supported by several community organisations, the Canowindra Christmas Day Luncheon Committee thanked everyone who has donated food and Canowindra@Home who will be providing the delicious desserts.
With plenty of decorations set to light up Christmas Lunch, the committee is looking for volunteers to help set up the day before, Wednesday, December 24. Please contact Lyn Rasmussen on 0409 867 002 or Marion Wilson on 6344 1716 if you are able to help out. More committee members are always welcomed too, so please contact if interested.
