After enjoying both lunches and dinners over the last five years, the Canowindra@home team has brought back the dinner format, with the party atmosphere set to light up Canowindra.

After enjoying both lunches and dinners over the last five years, the Canowindra@home team has brought back the dinner format, with the party atmosphere set to light up Canowindra.

Now entering its sixth year, organiser Marg Wallington said the much-anticipated evening event has attracted visitors from all over.

“We’ve got a lot of people coming from Sydney, Queensland, Canberra and of course the locals are very supportive, along with people from surrounding towns like Cowra, Bathurst and Orange,” she said. 

“We’ve gone back to the dinner in the street because the atmosphere is just really special and we can fit more people in.”

Tickets for the dinner sold within a week ahead of Christmas and will see almost 300 people enjoy local food and wine.

“The whole thing behind the dinner is promoting local, seasonal food and wine that’s all sourced from within a 100 mile radius of Canowindra,” Mrs Wallington said.

“We’ve also got a fantastic Blues jazz band, a dance floor for dancing in the street and producers will be available to talk about their produce.”

With cutlery to be wrapped, lights to be hung, batteries to power lanterns and glasses to be polished, Mrs Wallington thanked all the volunteers for their support.

“Everything has come together very well and we’re very appreciative of the volunteers and Cabonne Council for their support,” she said.

“We have about 40 volunteers, not only for the months leading up to it but this week as we hold various working bees ahead of Saturday night.”

The Canowindra@home 100 Mile Dinner will be held this Saturday, March 7 starting at 7pm
