Vannessa Fisher read the story of 'The Brothers Quibble' to students from St Eddies and Canowindra Preschool in order to promote the value of reading and literacy.
"This event has been going for 15 years - that's older than our year six students," she told her rapt audience.
"The reason why we're doing this is to encourage you all to take time out to read, whether it's with mum and dad or you take 10 minutes out of your own day. Reading is something very important you all need to know."
'The Brothers Quibble' follows the exploits of Spalding Quibble after his parents bring home his new baby brother.
Australian author Aaron Blabey wrote the book to help children deal with new additions to the family, after a similar experience with his own children.
Luckily, siblings in the audience didn't seem to have the same problem.
"He's so cheeky," big brother William Murphy said of little brother Ronan.
"I like to play with him," Ronan said.
Brother and sister duo Edie and Noah Brown said they also had fun playing together.
