Canowindra recovered from a 10-point deficit during the early stages of the opening half to comfortably defeat the Manildra Rhinos 44-16 in round five of the Woodbridge Cup on Sunday afternoon.

Played at Tom Clyburn Oval, the Tigers initially struggled to complete a set and the visitors took full advantage crossing for the opening two tries of the game.
Reverting back to basics, the momentum quickly swung in favour of Canowindra and the home side raced to a 16-10 lead.
A string of penalties caused Rhinos' tempers to boil which resulted in one of their troops being sent from the field and the visitors playing with 12 men for the remaining 40 minutes.
After the break, the Tigers big men took charge, led by captain-coach Matt Frazer, and the backs benefitted with several tries being scored on either edge.
The final score was 44-16 with Ham Tina being recognised as the Tigers' best along with halves duo Matt Mclean and Brydon Hughes.
The win leaves Canowindra in third, now on equal points with Trundle who were beat 20-18 by an undefeated Cargo outfit.
Earlier in the day the ladies league tag loss 26-6 also playing the Manildra Rhinos.
Alicia Earsman, Kath Davis and Jess Coker were the three standout players along with Melissa Frazer.
The ladies are placed seventh with two wins and three losses.
Canowindra travel to Binalong this weekend where they'll lock horns with the defending premiers.
