FC will look to continue its pre-season form against Melbourne Victory tonight, having already notched pre-season victories against Earlwood Wanderers and Brisbane Roar.
Grant, 25, proved his versatility to coach Graeme Arnold last summer being used at left and right back and as a defensive midfielder.
He also showed plenty of ability on the ball going forward as an attacking full-back where he created a number of chances including one goal assist.
Grant’s next major outing will be against Blacktown City in the quarter-finals of the FFA Cup on Wednesday, September 21, with the winner progressing to the semi-finals.
In the other quarter finals Melbourne City will play Western Sydney Wanderers, Bentleigh Greens face off against Melbourne Victory and Canberra Olympic play Green Gully.
Sydney FC’s A-League season begins on Saturday, October 8 at ANZ Stadium against the Western Sydney Wanderers.
It is likely Grant will be used at right back during the 2016-2017 season. He is into the final season of two year contract extension he signed in 2014-15.
