The Holden FX was Mr McCarron’s pride and joy and failed to reach reserve when he held a clearance of his collection in Canowindra last year.
his ‘pride and joy’ is a 48/215, one of the first cars to drive off Holden’s production line.
Charlie believed his 1948 Holden was valued at ‘about a million bucks’, it’s one of only six left in Australia.
Burns and Co, which held Charlie’s Canowindra auction will auction the 1948 FX which was build in December 1948 with a body number of 46.
The car has a miserly 21,000 genuine miles on the clock.
Charlie had owned the car since the 1970s and its proudest moment, according to Burns and Co, was being driven around Bathurst by the late Peter Brock.
Described as being of museum quality Burns and Co will offer the car on an unreserved basis at the Echuca auction.
