Canowindra Balloon Challenge has once again taken flight over their rivals.

Last Thursday evening at the NSW Tourism Awards, they were named in the top three events in NSW coming in with the Bronze award for the Festivals and Events category, behind the winner, another great Central West event, the Parkes Elvis Festival.

Chairman, Graham Kerr said: “It is a truly remarkable feat for our community event to be named in the top 3. Much of our success must go to our volunteers, participants and committee for this achievement”.

Planning is well underway for next year’s event from April 21 to 29.

Several new initiatives are planned to make it the best Challenge yet with a bigger and better Cabonne Country Balloon Glow and night markets, including Peter Byrne in the “Forever Diamond” show and extra events mid week.

Campsite bookings at the Showground will open at the end of the month. If you have a spare room or your whole house to rent during the festival please call Colin Pryor on 0499 712 999 or Jan Kerr on 0428 441 819 to register
