The closest centres with a Return and Earn machine to Canowindra are Cowra, Bathurst and Forbes.
Orange is yet to receive a machine.
The Cowra machine, located in the Woolworth’s supermarket carpark is just one of the four collection points across the Central West and Orana regions.
The collection point will be operating from 7 to 10 with an assistant on hand for the first few weeks of the scheme to help explain how the collection point works.
Under the Return and Earn scheme most empty 150-millilitre to 3-litre drink containers will be eligible for the 10-cent refund, materials that may be eligible for a refund include: PET, HDPE, glass, aluminium, steel and liquid paperboard.
The Cowra reverse vending machine provides refunds in three ways: a voucher to be redeemed at a participating retailer (Woolworths), a direct payment to your bank account via PayPal, or a donation to one of the charities shown on screen.
