Canowindra Springfest, to be run in the October long weekend is gathering momentum, with the most recent addition to the program a Farmers & Makers Market, which will set up at 8:30 am Saturday October 4 in the car park of The Royal Hotel.

Over twenty growers are expected along with an array of local Crafts people.
The concept for the Springfest celebration is to merge the local wineries festivities held at this time with a colourful array of visual and performing arts.
To this end, Springfest will open with The Canowindra Art Network's next Major Exhibition on Thursday October 2.
Titled "long ago not far away”, the exhibition opening will be preceded by a recital of chamber music by students from Orange Conservatorium. Cowra Art Gallery Director Jacqueline Schultz will open the exhibition will be opened at the Age of Fishes Museum at 7pm.
A series of visual & performing Arts workshops will be a feature of the weekend program.
A total of 12 workshops are planned including Master classes in Life Drawing, Collaborative Drawing, Ceramics, Sculpture, Mixed Media, plus Performance Poetry, Vocalization and Acting.
The educational component will extend beyond the arts, with workshops on cooking, wine blending and wine appreciation.
For those who wish to consume as well as learn about these things there is a veritable feast. Art is on view and for sale at 12 venues, wine tasting at 9 wineries and evening performances on 4 nights.
Local identities John & Julie Wythes, Bush Poet Frank Daniel, plus Fiona Baillie, Kath Balcombe & Michelle Berry will head the bill for the Springfest Concert on Saturday October 4 at the Canowindra High School.
A stunning set of musical recitals all day Sunday 5, will be hosted by Rosnay Wines and Sydney community radio station 2MBS FM with several well known musical ensembles: sessions at 11am,12noon, 2pm and 3:30pm.
Performers include Tapas Duo (former principal Cellist Sydney Symphony Orchestra - Trish O'Brien & internationally renowned pianist/Composer Mark Isaac), Aark (sextet) and The Greenway Quartet. A tasting of fine Rosnay wine and other organic farm produce will
follow.
The Devonian Splash, a black tie ball hosted by The Age of Fishes Museum, will start at 7:30 pm Sunday. A two women cabaret show starring Jo Cox & Penny Scott, will accompany the two course meal, and The Forbes Big Band will keep the feet tapping until late.
The Balloon Club of N.S.W. & A.C.T. has agreed to fly each day, launching from the field behind the Royal Hotel. A great sight, at least 12 balloons in the skies set within a heritage backdrop in the late afternoon.
