The Year 12 Canowindra High School student, currently in the throes of studying for her HSC, has been selected for not one, but two representative sides - the Under 19s Australian Schoolgirls team and the NSW Sapphires 'Blue' team.
This is the first time Cassidy has been selected for an international side, and is the latest in a long list of achievements for the young soccer player.
The excitement of her dual selection was doubled, finding out about both on the same day.
Cassidy is one of only two country girls selected for the Sapphires squad, and is excited about the quality of the side.
Sapphires selection means she will have the chance to play with nine Matildas.
The NSW Sapphires will compete in a week-long tournament to be staged at Canberra at the Australian Institute of Sport at the end of this month, against other state sides.
At the same time, Cassidy and her family are also busy organising fundraising and sponsorship for the $6,000 trip to the United Kingdom and Ireland in January and February next year.
Next year promises to be a most exciting Australian Schoolgirls' tour, with a number of international matches, as well as four to five games against British club academies.
The 19 year-old admitted yesterday she has a lot on her plate at the moment, with the HSC, the national tournament and her international tour at the start of next year, but is excited about the opportunities both present.
Cassidy hopes to catch the attention of scouts overseas, with the ultimate goal of securing a scholarship.
She thanked her family, friends, and the wider Canowindra community for their
support in helping reach her this stage.
Cassidy will leave for England on January 16 and will tour there for three weeks.
