LIFE in Molong has returned to normal after a bomb threat which proved to be a hoax brought the central business district to a standstill around 10.30am on Friday.
Police, fire and ambulance services converged on the village's medical centre in Bank Street after a caller told staff a bomb was inside the multi-purpose medical facility.
Nearby streets were closed off as Cabonne Council staff in the building adjacent to the centre were also evacuated.
28 residents of the aged-care facility connected to the health centre were also evacuated to the nearby Scout Hall.
Acting Inspector Brenden Turner said police enacted bomb threat protocols and, with the assistance of a staff member, carried out a search inside and outside the building to check for any unusual objects.
Orange detectives are now following leads to track down the person responsible for the threatening phone call.
FRIDAY, 11.50AM:
POLICE and fire crews have given staff permission to return to their buildings after external and internal searches of the building could find nothing suspicious.
The road blocks will be cleared shortly.

POLICE and emergency services have evacuated three buildings in Molong, including a retirement home, after a bomb threat.
A command center and muster point has been set up on the village green on Gidley Street with staff from the Cabonne Council Chambers and a nearby medical center ordered out of their buildings.
Police, ambos and fire officers assisted seven staff members evacute 28 residents from the Prunus retirement hostel.
Police have also shut down the block bordered by Bank Street, Edward St, Bells Lane and Gidley Street.
