Organiser Mandy Townsend couldn’t put a figure on the amount of money raised from the event, but firmly labelled it a success following the amount of positive feedback received.
”It was great. Everyone who was there really got involved,” Ms Townsend said.
Beginning about 1.30pm, the run featured a number obstacles including tyre flipping, fence climbing, rock climbing, hay bales, a bubble tunnel, commando crawling and more – all while being splashed in colour powder.
The day ended about 3pm with a barbecue, an ice block and some music by DJ Ratta.
Ms Townsend said she was shocked by the amount of laps the participants completed.
“I thought the average laps done would be two but the kids were doing five and some even did up to eight laps which is pretty cool,” she said.
“It was a successful event and I think everyone enjoyed it.
“It’s a fun idea. We thought we’d add the ninja side of things as well which I think added to the excitement.”
St Edward’s Primary School Principal Ken McNamara thanked the school’s P and F for organising the event.
“The school really appreciates the P and F coordinating this school and community fundraiser,” he said.
Money raised will go towards funding of new outdoor furniture for the St Edward’s Primary School playground and the school’s new literacy program.
Ms Townsend said she might have to organise another colour run due to Saturday’s success.
“I think I’d get into trouble from the kids if we don’t,” she said.
“There were a lot of comments saying ‘best day ever’.”
Ms Townsend thanked the community for its support.
“We had a great day and the P and F would just like to thank everyone for supporting us.”
