Mick and his sister Maxine do the barbecue for the golfers every Sunday and the show of numbers on Sunday proved how appreciative we are. Well done Mick.
Good to see a large number of older golfers out of retirement for the day.
Five junior members played, along with six lady golfers.
Winning team was Doug Flannery and two juniors Huson Izzard and Lane Fisher.
Runners up was the ladies’ team of Julie Fairley, Helen Kemper and Ronda Ward.
Nearest to the pin on the 4th was John James and on the 6th was John Lawrence.
Second shot closet to the pin on the 9th went to Ned Grant.
This Saturday is the club’s fundraiser day. An 18 hole three man ambrose begins at 10am with a shotgun start.
The club opens at 9am with a barbecue all day. Get a team together and help the club in its effort to replace the air conditioning and pay to replace the new roof on the verandah. Peter Mitchell from Golf NSW will be in attendance and will present money to the club to go towards the roof and air conditioner after golf.
The day will include an auction which includes four full lambs, seven half lambs, a safe from Canobolas Locksmiths, a table with two bench seats, a balloon flight for two with local pilot Steve Campbell, a $50 Synergy hair voucher and two cash boxes. Raffle prizes include a half lamb (1st), a $50 voucher for Muzza’s Meat (2nd) and half a ham (3rd).
The wheelie bin will also be set up on the 9th fairway following the competition and for one dollar, golfers have a chance of winning $100 if they get it in. A barbecue will run all day with a free sausage sizzle for kids. On Sunday it’s an 18 hole even sponsored by Wheeler Australia.
