Four tries by Tigers winger Lochie Robinson has helped lift Canowindra to victory over Eugowra in an absolute thriller at Tom Clyburn Oval on Saturday afternoon.

A large crowd turned out for sponsors day and weren’t disappointed, with the Tigers pipping the Golden Eagles 36-34 thanks to a match winning try by Regan Hughes in the 77th minute.
The victory wasn’t enough for the Tigers to move into third position on the ladder, meaning their season rests on the outcome of this week’s elimination final clash against Manildra at Cargo.
Winger Robinson was the standout for Canowindra scoring four tries including a hat-trick and setting up another in the opening 40 minutes. The Tigers led 26-18 at the break however the Golden Eagles lifted in the second period and gained a 34-32 lead with 10 minutes left.
With the clock ticking down, the Tigers kept their cool and second rower Regan Hughes skipped inside some tired Eugowra defence to clinch the victory.
It was a huge result for the Tigers in front a massive crowd, giving the side loads of confidence ahead of this week’s elimination final.
Aaron Earsman inspired the victory with a gusty, hard working performance while Kain Earsman and Jayden Brown were also strong. Eugowra gets a second chance playing Grenfell in the qualifying final on Sunday at Eugwora.
Earlier on Saturday, league tag suffered a 22-4 loss despite being locked at 4-4 halfway through the second half and youth league won 68-10 over Peak Hill.
