Cheryl Newsom, Chairperson said,“The surveys only take approximately 15 minutes to complete, however are an essential part of the process to gauge support for a Community Bank ® branch within the Canowindra community.”
“Responses have started to come into the appointed consultants, which is fantastic, however we need at least 200 completed to ensure that we have a wide cross section of the community involved”.
“On Thursday we will have a team of people from Bendigo Bank and AFS in town interviewing local businesses and local people to ensure that we get some feedback on how people see the prospect of having a locally-owned and operated bank here in Canowindra.
“We believe that our community does want the long-term benefits a Community Bank ® branch can bring, however we need to back this up with official data to show that it will be viable.”
“The surveys are due in at the end of February and I would urge everybody to complete their survey as soon as possible and return to the address on the survey form,” Ms Newsom said.
