Staff and residents were joined by family, friends and the members of the community for afternoon tea and to recognize those who had lived and worked at the home for over 10 years.
Salavation Army Aged Care National Director, Richard de Haast, said he was pleased to celebrate a unique part of their history.
"It's really exciting and an incredible milestone," he said.
"This particular institution has been a real part of the community for an extended period of time, in fact it is the longest aged care environment that we've operated as the Salvation Army.
"So it really marks a special place in our history and our organisation," he said.
Mr de Haast said Moyne continued to be a core part of the Canowindra community.
"We realise we are an integral part of the community and we intend to keep it that way and continue to contribute to providing the best possible care for every single resident who lives with us," he said.
"If you look at a city like Sydney, not only do we have younger facilities but the staff in those locations haven't been with us for as long as the staff here.
"That is the real secret, the longevity of our staff and the relationship they build, the passion and friendships they have with the residents, transcends just providing care. It takes it to whole different levels, so we are very very lucky to have the team we have here," he said.
Melissa Delaney, Moyne Senior Lifestyle assistant, thanked all who attended the celebrations, saying the community had been the driving force behind Moyne.
"Moyne was officially opened on March 21, 1959, after an appeal by the Boree Shire to the Canowindra community for funding to start an aged care home," she said.
"New wings have been added to the original building over the years as well as the Kanyana Centre which is used for many different events.
"But one thing has never changed, that is the love compassion and caring that is provided every single day.
"The Canowindra community remains an important part of us today and we are encouraged and supported to join in community events.
"We wish to sincerely and wholeheartedly thank Canowindra and the surrounding communities for their ongoing support. Without you we would not be who we are today," she said.
