Rates of malicious damage to property have more than doubled and the number of assaults have risen in the Cabonne Local Government Area according to the latest crime statistics.

The NSW Recorded Crime Statistics quarterly update, released by the NSW Bureau of Crime Statistics and Research, says there have been 73 reports of malicious damage to property in Cabonne in the last 12 months, compared to only 34 in the year to March 2018.
Rates of all different types of crime have risen in the past 12 months, except for fraud, which has dropped from 44 in the year to March 2018 to 33 reports in the past year.
Domestic violence related assaults have risen from 32 to 40 reports, while non-domestic violence related assault has gone from 18 reports in 2017/18 to 31 to March 2019.
Sexual assaults have only marginally risen, from 12 to 15 reports while there were seven more indecent assaults from 11 to 19 in the past 12 months.
Break and enter dwellings and non-dwellings have also risen, from 32 to 42 reports and 23 to 33 reports in the past 12 months respectively.
Rates of motor vehicle theft have also doubled since the year to March 2018.
14 incidents were reported to police in March 2017 to March 2018, while there were 30 reports in the last 12 months.
There were 26 reports of steal from vehicles in the 12 months to March 2018 while there were 35 in the last 12 months.

Rates of steal from retail have remained relatively low, increasing from three in the year to March 2018 to seven in the past 12 months.
There were 27 reports of break and enter from a dwelling compared to 24 in the previous year.
While there were no reports of steal from a person from March 2017 to March 2018, there was one recorded incident in the past 12 months.
There have been no reports of robberies with or without firearms and other weapons for the past two years in the Cabonne area.
