The Canowindra Pythons' men's team has had a tough year but that hasn't stopped them from battling throughout.

Despite hosting a home town double fixture at Tom Clyburn Oval this weekend, the Canowindra Pythons didn't quite get what they expected, with only one team playing on the day.

The forfeit of the Dubbo Kangaroos meant the combined Cowra-Canowindra team didn't take to the field, winning their match 56-0 by default.

That left the men's team to fly the flag and that they did despite going down by 23 points against the Coolah Roos.

While Braydon Burgess led the way with three conversions for the visitors, tries to Lachie Wells and Kenneth Turnbull ensured the home team kept battling on in the 33-10 defeat.
