Fossils at Canowindra's Age of Fishes Museum have a new lease on life after the museum acquired some new stands.

The majority of the fossils are now displayed on upright stands rather than on plinths closer to the ground.

Anne Clark from the Canowindra Age of Fishes Museum said the stands not only further protect the fossils, but allow visitors to see finer details of fish and other creatures.

More stands are set to be erected soon.
