The Grimshaw family say their two cats, Mr Beard and Turtle, have been missing since August 2 and August 22 respectively and fear they may have been taken.
Demi Grimshaw said the family has notified both the ranger and police.
"There's been a few leads about Mr Beard but none have been him, we've heard nothing about Turtle," she said.
"We're running out of options of what to do."
Ms Grimshaw said the cats are beloved family pets.
"To many, missing cats may seem like such a trivial issue," she said.
"But to us, the loss of these two cats has torn our family and our hearts. We've had Turtle for about a year, and Mr Beard three or four years."
Ms Grimshaw said the family fears the cats were taken or trapped as they weren't known to wander around the streets.
"We have no idea where they are, these aren't cats that wander from home," she said.
"Their disappearance is unusual and highly suspicious.
"They are not the first nor the last to have disappeared in town due to the continuous, aggressive actions of a few individuals who are trapping, dumping, disposing and baiting.
"We believe it's time to take a stand - for families just like us and innocent pets just like ours."
Mr Beard is a male black and white cat while Turtle is a female and black and tortoiseshell in colour.
