All Canowindra residents are invited to attend a community meeting next month to provide feedback on updated plans that will set out the priorities for the construction of footpaths and cycleways in the town in coming years.
The meetings, which will review the draft Pedestrian Access Mobility Plan (PAMP) and Bike Plans for Canowindra and Cabonne's other towns and villages, will also be an opportunity to suggest any additional pathways that communities believe should be considered for inclusion in the plans.
Footpaths and cycle ways will be key components of the Master Plan being developed for Canowindra, so it essential the community has its say on their roll out.
The Canowindra meeting will be held at the Canowindra Bowling Club on Thursday 12 March 2020, starting at 5.30pm.
Other meetings will be held in Molong on Tuesday 10 March 2020 and at St Joseph's School Hall, Eugowra on Wednesday 11 March 2020, starting at 7pm.
Cabonne Mayor Kevin Beatty said anyone who uses a footpath or rides a bike has a stake in ensuring that the plans set out the right priorities for Cabonne's communities.
The plans are of particular interest for all pedestrians, especially mothers and children walking to school, pre-school or childcare, seniors and users of prams, strollers, bicycles and mobility scooters.
"We want to ensure these plans mean that future footpaths and bike ways are built where the community wants them and to do that we need your input," he said.
Cr Beatty said many people completed an on-line survey several months ago, which helped consultants Constructive Solutions to formulate the draft plans.
"This is a critical opportunity for you to have your say on the plans or suggest additional pathways," he said.
