Western Australia pioneered it, Queensland has enacted it, and now Member for Calare Andrew Gee wants NSW to explore having different sets of social distancing restrictions for regional and metropolitan areas of the state.

Mr Gee said he wants to see regional parts of the state have their restrictions lifted before they're lifted in hotspots such as Sydney, to give residents west of the mountains some economic relief.
He said he wanted to follow in the steps of Queensland, which loosened restrictions for regional areas which had avoided the brunt of coronavirus cases.
However, Mr Gee said is was a call for Gladys Berejiklian and the NSW government to make.
"I've always been a supporter of regional Australia, with its lower infection rate and less population density potentially having restrictions eased sooner, although the NSW government doesn't want to follow that," he said.
"I've been a big supporter of regional bubbles, regional travel bubbles and I think that makes a lot of sense given our lower infection rates in the bush but obviously it's a decision for the NSW government and they've made the call on that."
Speaking on Monday, Mr Gee also called on states to begin loosing border restrictions - echoing the calls of other coalition ministers made over the past few weeks.
Victoria and NSW have their borders open, while Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania and Western Australia require travellers to quarantine.
The ACT has open borders with NSW, while the Northern Territory still has its borders closed.
Home Affairs minister Peter Dutton last week called for Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk to open the state's borders, while One Nation senator Pauline Hanson threatened to take the state to court over its continued closure of borders.
Mr Gee didn't go as far as those two, but encouraged Queensland to consider opening back up.
"Given infection rates are under control those states should be easing travel restrictions and facilitating out economies getting back on track," he said.
"I would have thought with so much of Queensland's economy relying on tourism they would have wanted to open back up."
He praised the "hard work and sacrifice" over the past two months and encouraging anyone with symptoms to get tested at facilities across the region.
