Wet weather last Sunday caused the site to get muddy and potentially dangerous to those involved.
The cemetery clean up comes after work was done by Canowindra Proud, an initiative of the Canowindra Lions Club, to tidy up parts of the main street and the town's surrounds.
Lions Club member Tommy Jeffs said Cabonne Council have come on board and will take care of the lawns, while the Lions Club will be providing a barbecue lunch and drinks.
Jobs will include painting the rotunda, cleaning up the columbarium and maintenance work around the graves.
"Bring your rakes, your shovels, your whipper snippers, your wheelbarrows and your trucks and let's do a big spruce up of the Canowindra Cemetery so it's something we can be proud of," he said.
