In August, the Molong and Canowindra communities were invited to explore and shape ideas regarding ways to create more attractive and functional spaces. Consultation sessions identified the values of the community to ensure the project effectively adds value for the community.
The key messages to come out of these consultations for Molong were that the community impression of the town centre is tired and in need of modernisation. The Molong community would like to see their town centre as sophisticated and stylish.
The Canowindra community's impression of their town centre was that it is part of a historic village and they would like to maintain the nostalgic feeling of the main street. They also wish to feel welcome, safe and comfortable when they are using the space.
The papers outlining the suggested changes to achieve these visions will go to the Council meeting of October 27 with the intention to be displayed publicly on Council's website from Wednesday, October 28 for a period of 21 days.
Representatives from Sala4D and King+Campbell will be in both towns next week to answer any questions you may have about the findings of their consultations.
The Canowindra sessions will take place on Thursday, October 29 with a drop-in session at Old Vic Inn - 10am-4pm and an evening presentation at Canowindra Services Club - 6pm-7pm (please book in for this session)
All sessions have a COVID safe plan in place.
To book in for the evening sessions, please contact Council's Communications and Marketing Coordinator, Emma Tadros, on 0419 719 632 or by emailing council@cabonne.nsw.gov.au with details of which session you will be attending and how many people are in your party.
