The centre received $2,699 through the 2019/20 Local Sport Grant Program for the purchase of a line marking machine to maintain the athletics tracks.
Member for Orange, Phil Donato, announced the funding during a visit to the centre on December 10.
Mr Donato said $50,000 had been allocated to the electorate under the program with Canowindra receiving almost half of the funds through a number of applications.
"Congratulations to the Canowindra Little Athletics team for this successful grants funding," he said.
"Sixty kids are actively involved in Little Athletics in Canowindra, and nine have recently competed at Zone and six have competed at Stage level."
Mr Donato said it was fantastic to see the funding was improving the lives of those involved in the athletics centre.
"I'm happy to support these grassroots clubs and organisations, which are volunteer-run by locals dedicated to supporting energetic youth," he said.
"Most are run on the smell of an oily rag and it [grants] can really make a difference to the amenities, getting more people involved and participating in those activities.
"I always say an active community is a healthy community.
"It doesn't matter if it's lawn bowls, golf, little athletics or any other sport it's great to be in a position to support these groups who do such great work in their community."
Canowindra Little Athletics Centre Secretary, Andrew Phelan, said that the new line marking machine has made a remarkable difference.
"With this new machine, we can mark three lines at once," he said.
"This has reduced what was a three to hour hour job down to a one hour job, which makes it much better for our volunteers.
"We have to mark out the track five or six times a season, so that's a big thing. We're very grateful for this new equipment.
"I can't understand how we've managed for the last nine years without it."
